The F-35B jest was seen moving at the time and it was evident that it was moving too slowly up the short take-off ramp before plunging out of the view as the pilot decided to eject to safety, it has been further stated by Commander Tom Sharpe who is a former Royal Navy Officer. “Given how close the aircraft ditched to the bow, and the speed of the ship on launch, the likelihood of it hitting the bow of the ship (under the waterline) would be quite high.”

He further stated that warship steel is not thick, even despite the weight discrepancy between the two, he would like the compartment near the bow checked immediately, he would then want the hull dived on whenever he would have gotten the opportunity, one of the Royal Navy sources have stated, the F-35 has not damaged the ship but the carrier is going to be checked as the vessel would have been damaged.

For now, it is not yet known if the aircraft impacted the carrier, if this was the case then the carrier would have been the minimal effect on the 65,000-tonne vessel, it is like a fly hitting windscreen. There is a 16-second video of the crash which has been taken by a security camera on board the aircraft carrier.

Instead of going upwards at about a 20-degree angle from the ship into the sky, the warplane dropped straight down off the end of the ramp and it was then out of sight in the blink of an eye, there are going to be further revelations in the story in the coming days and weeks. There is an investigation which is happening as of this point in time as to what happened to the aircraft and is still underway but as of now, it is not yet clear if they have been successful or not, we will be back with further updates.
